David Tuthill
David Tuthill

A player in middle position raised to 26,000, David Tuthill called from the hijack, the player in the cutoff called, and Kate Kopp called from the small blind.

The flop came Kh9h5s, and Kopp bet 60,000. The next player folded, Tuthill called, and the cutoff folded.

The turn card was the As, Kopp moved all in for about 170,000, and Tuthill snap-called with KsKc for a set of kings. Kopp turned over 5h5d for a set of fives, and she needed to catch the case five to stay alive.

The river card was the 6d, and Tuthill won the pot with his set of kings to eliminate Kopp in 55th place.

David Tuthill  –  849,000  (71 bb)
Kate Kopp  –  Eliminated in 55th Place  ($4,141)

At another table, Aaron Massey raised under the gun to 27,000, a player called from middle position, and Constantinos Psallidas moved all in from the button for exactly 300,000. Massey called, and the third player folded.

Psallidas turned over AhKs, and he needed to improve to stay alive against Massey’s JdJc.

The board came 9d8d2sKh4c, and Psallidas paired his king on the turn to win the pot and double up in chips.

Constantinos Psallidas  –  657,000  (55 bb)
Aaron Massey  –  375,000  (30 bb)

With 53 players remaining, the average chip stack is about 658,000 (55 big blinds), and the remaining players are all guaranteed at least $4,630 each.

At another table, Robin Dinicolantonio was all in from the hijack for about 95,000 with 8h8c, but she needed to improve to stay alive against the JsJc of Eric Wasylenko.

The board came 9c6c6d9h4s, and the pocket jacks held up for Wasylenko to win the pot and eliminate Dinicolantonio in 59th place.

Michael Cohen

James Calderaro raised under the gun, Michael Cohen called UTG+1, and Francisco Gomez called from the small blind.

The flop came 10c8h3d, and it checked to Cohen, who bet 42,000. Gomez check-raised to 170,000, and Calderaro folded. Cohen thought for a while before he called.

The turn card was the 6d, Gomez moved all in for about 560,000, and Cohen snap-called with 10h10d for a set of tens. Gomez was reluctant to turn over his cards, saying he was drawing dead, but since it was an all-in situation, he had to show. He turned over AdQh for an ace-high bluff, and he was, in fact, drawing dead.

The meaningless river card was the 5h, and Cohen won the pot to double up in chips.

Michael Cohen  –  950,000  (79 bb)
Francisco Gomez  –  318,000  (27 bb)

Thomas Boyden
