Ian Pearson

Ian Pearson opened for his last roughly 80,000 and was called by Norbert Kara. Pearson was at risk racing for his tournament life.

Kara: JcJh
Pearson: AcKc

A Jd8h6d flop prompted Pearson to gather his things. Kara had a set and the Qh turn nor the 2c river didn’t give Pearson the lead he needed. After finishing fifth in last night’s turbo, Pearson carded another deep run busting 14th good for $408.

Kara raked a pot that grew his stack to roughly 330,000.

Ian Pearson – Eliminated in 14th place ($408)

Claudemir Osorio wins a race, promptly “bumps” the dealer

On the third round of hand-for-hand play, an unknown player shoved about 10 big blinds and Claudemir Osorio called. Osorio, who won the opening event of the WPTDeepStacks-Tampa series, was ahead in the race claiming QcQd against the all-in players’ AdJc.

Runout: Ts4c4d9s3s

Osorio’s hand held and he burst the bubble. The final 18 players are now in the money each having locked up at least $350.

Event 10: Scott Caracciolo Gets Two

$150 Double Green Chip Bounty NL Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 4: 100/200 with 25 ante
Entries: 72

Scott Caracciolo

Scott Caracciolo knows a little about success in the Double Green Chip Bounty event, he was part of a three-way even-split of this tournament during last year’s Winter Poker Open. And he’s on the right track against today and practically freerolling.

We caught the action at the end as Caracciolo was raking in a lot of chips with trip jacks and the dealer announcing two bounties. He sent two players to the rail earning $100 in casino chips and moved his stack up to 25,000.

Caracciolo added another $3,000 to his bankroll last night when he finished 14th in the multi-day $570 Deep Stack Event 7.

Event 10: The Luck of Byars

$150 Double Green Chip Bounty NL Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 3: 75/150 with 25 ante
Entries: 64

Brandon Byars

We’ve witnessed Tampa regular Brandon Byars running deep in tournaments for some big scores including a run to the last two tables in the big-field opening WPO event and a Spring Little Slick Series Main Event win in April.

But we’ve also seen him flop some big hands that would get run down or out flopped. The latest came in the early stages of the Bounty Event when he flopped a set with 5h5d on the 6d5d4c board. However, his opponent hit better with 3s2h. Byars added some chop outs on the 7c turn but had to ship some chips after the Jd river.

Byars is still sitting with 8,000 of his 12,000 starting stack so plenty of time to run it up.

Event 9: Ballentine Ends up with Wild’s Chips

$250 Deep Stack NL Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 15: 1,500/3,000 with a 500 ante
Players Remaining: 21 of 119

Jay Ballentine

It’s unclear what went down, but Jay Ballentine ended up with the majority of Ted Wild’s stack. Ballentine is comfortably over 200,000 while Wild now sits with less than 100,000.

Ballentine’s stack doesn’t quite look to be the biggest left, but he’s definitely toward the top of the counts with the bubble right around the corner.
