Fred Paradis

After a series of exclamations at Table 10, we jumped over to see what the fuss was about—it turned out to be a pretty crazy runout for Fred Paradis.

He was heads up with the board showing Jc6d5h and had his opponent at risk. Paradis had the lead with AdAh against Ac6c until a third six hit the 6s turn. There was only one ace left in the deck that could send Paradis the pot and it came on the As river to send his opponent walking away.

Fred Paradis – 96,800 (81 bb)

We mentioned earlier that Frank Weigel and Ross Corless were in the field, and James Kerr joined them recently. Sitting right next to Weigel and catching up with Corless.

All three of these share something special in this room.

All three are former Champions after capturing the headliner in a series. Corless is the most recent when he won the Winter Poker Open Championship in January. Weigel won the Pinktober Poker Open Championship this past October, and Kerr won this tournament in 2021.

Three champs and quality individuals.

Players returned to their seats after the first break of the Championship and there was one big stack in the room. Justin Coltharp had a nice few levels to start his day and went on break leaving 167,500 in his place with no one else over 100K.

That’s a good start.
