Kris Lord

Kris Lord topped the field in Event 14 tonight after a decision to chop up the remaining prize pool crowned him as the champion with three players remaining. Lord took home the top prize of $7,045 as decided in the chop along with the WPT Trophy. Here is what he said after the victory.

“Thank you, it feels great. To be honest this summer in Vegas I final tabled three HORSE events and I could just never get there. I got second, I got fourth, I got sixth. It’s nice to finally get one you know. HORSE is my specialty, so it’s exciting,” said Lord.

When he was asked about the variety of mixed games on the tournament schedule here in Tampa, Lord responded with: “I would like a couple more, but compared to a lot of other series they do throw in a lot of mixed games, which is really nice. Especially because we don’t have online here in Florida, we can’t get a lot of practice, and there are a lot of mixed game players in Florida. I really do like that during this series.”

“I may just take a little bit of a lull and just do life. This weekend I’m probably just going to go out on the boat with some friends, and we have some amazing boating here. We celebrate all championships on boats here, I don’t know if you know that,” said Lord when he was asked about his plans to celebrate the victory after a long run of traveling that preceded this tournament series.
