Kevin “Kevmath” Mathers approached the media desk with the bad news. As told, he faced a raise and looked down at pocket eights. Mathers called as did two players behind him. Action was on a third player who shoved. The original raiser folded and Mathers called off. The two previous callers got out of the way and Mathers was at risk against a lone opponent.

The board ran out dry for the man they call Kevmath and his run at victory here in Event 7 came to an abrupt end. His stay in Tampa is not over, though. Mathers doesn’t depart the Sunshine State until Monday morning and it’s likely we’ll see him on the felt again before that.
