Frank Walker (Auburndale, FL) is good with the ladies, something this 82-year-old is proud of. He used pocket Queens to run away from the Flight D field as Walker bagged 289k, 100k more than the next closest stack.
Walker said he was all in and at risk for 68k with QQ against two players who both held AK. After getting a near triple-up, he continued adding to his stack over the last hour of play.
“I just played my hands,” said Walker who’s a retired Air Force man. “I knew I made it (to Day 2) and didn’t take any chances, it just worked out.”
Walker’s 289k (72 bb) ties him for the overall tournament lead with Tom Nguyen (Tampa, FL) as four of the seven flights are completed in this $100,000 Guaranteed event.
Walker is primarily a $1/$2 cash player at Seminole Hard Rock Tampa, but is now playing more tournaments. “They started to get big, so I decided to try them out.”
59 players have advanced to Day 2 from Flights A-D . The average stack is currently 104k (26 bb) with tonight’s Flight E and Wednesday’s two flights still to go.
