Tampa, FL (December 20, 2015) — The last tournament on the 2015 Winter Poker Open schedule kicked off Sunday afternoon in the poker room while the Championship played out nearby. It was a $150 buy-in Turbo No Limit Hold’em event which drew a nice 210 entrant crowd to close out the series.

Mohd Eid outlasted the entire field and beat Eric Wert heads up to claim the title and $7,054 first place prize. Just like the fast-paced Turbo events before it, Event 14 quickly played down to the final table in less than seven hours with Event 4 title winner Wert coming in as the chip leader.

Wert wasn’t the only player at the final table with success this series. “Tampa Bay Ray” Del Cueto finished seventh in the Seniors Event and Jay Giles finish seventh in this event last Tuesday.

The final table took less than an hour to play out with 15-minute levels and built-to-move stack sizes. James Rigsby went out in fourth place and the remaining three considered a deal but Eid took Wert and Huicun Qiao before they could calculate the numbers.

This is Eid’s first career title and third best tournament cash. His wife was in attendance and just as excited as her husband. Eid tried to make a deep run in the Championship but was unable to bag chips for Day 2. His result here takes some of the sting out.

“It feels good. It makes up for the [Championship].” Eid said. “I ran really bad in the [Championship]. It feels good. I almost didn’t come to play [Event][14].”

“I just wanted to take a break then I said, ‘It’s Sunday, let me come and play.” he finished.

A recent transplant from Massachusetts, he now resides in Pinellas Park, FL and enjoyed his first success at Seminole Hard Rock Tampa.

“I love [the][Winter][Poker][Open]. I hope they have it more often. I just moved here, to Florida. I like it.”

Event 14 was a fun way to wrap up the 2015 Winter Poker Open schedule for all those unable to make it deep in the Championship. The turnout and results prove this is a great format to end a successful series.
