$1,500 + $100 + $50 No Limit Hold’em Championship Event (Re-Entry)
Blinds 75/150
We are up to 53 players in Day 1A. Registration is open for the first four hours so there is still plenty of time to come down and get registered. One dealer said that a player wasn’t going to come in until the end of the registration period. Apparently Phil Hellmuth has poker disciples in Florida now.
Among the notables spotted in the field are Cong Pham who has been on a tear of late including a 3rd place finish at the Borgata WPT event in September that was good for over $300,000. Zo Karim, fresh off a 5th place finish in a WSOP event this summer, is also taking part in the action. And last but not certainly least is Allen Kessler’s favorite Florida player, David Tuthill. “He’s my favorite because he went back to school,” said Kessler. Tuthill has over $790,000 in career tournament earnings and got off to a hot start today when he flopped a full house with pocket 10’s and got value with a 6.1K bet on the river by recent 2nd place finisher Vitor Coelho. Vitor had turned a flush that was never ahead.
Martin Welch, winner of last night’s Seniors Event is also here after playing until 7 in the morning.
