WPO Day 9: Middle Flights Done for Event 7

Rafael Reis

On the ninth day of the WPO, players were given two more chances to book their seat for Day 2 in Event 7. The $570 tournament moved within sight of the $200,000 guaranteed prize pool and should get there early in the afternoon on Saturday.

The two flights combined to add another 186 entries into the tournament for a total of 338 over the first four. Only 62 entries stand between them and hitting the mark.

Rafael Reis was the big stack in the first flight and the Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open” Event 1 champ will look strong heading into Sunday’s action. Also moving on in Flight C were Elizabeth Provan (a final table member during the RRPO victory by Reis) and Dmitry Agrachov.

Ahmad Hamoush was the late leader in the evening flight but dropped behind Scott Riddell at the end. Hamoush still bagged up 240,000 but Riddell finished with 254,500, good enough for second overall after four flights.

There were also some other big names putting away chips for the night including Wally Maddah, Carlos Loving, AJ Kelsall, and John Dolan.

Tomorrow brings about the last two flight of the tournament and we should see some big numbers for Saturday poker.
