Event 1 Flight E: Mario De La Puente Leads

$360 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$250,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 5: 200/400 with a 400 ante
Flight E Entries: 91 (Total Entries: 474)

Mario De La Puente

Flight E players are back in their seats after the first break with 91 entries so far. Registration will remain open until the start of Level 9 and players can fire as many times as they wish during that time.

Mario De La Puente had to exercise one of those options early, busting on the first hand of the day, but he’s cruising now. The Event 2 champion is up to 62,100 and leading the field.

Event 1 Flight E: Pair of Eights

$360 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$250,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 4: 200/300 with a 300 ante
Flight E Entries: 88 (Total Entries: 471)

Mark Wiser

The entry count is up to 88 and the prize pool is nearing $150,000 on its way to $250K. The bigger field means we’re seeing a snowballing with re-entries and we should hit triple digits after the first break.

Mark Wiser is back in the Poker Room after a jaunt across the county to Las Vegas for the first weekend of WSOP action.  He has plenty of success her including  a Six-Max win during the Tampa Poker Classic in February.

Event 1 Flight E: Piling In

$360 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$250,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 2: 100/100 with a 100 ante
Flight E Entries: 69 (Total Entries: 452)

Wayne Daley

Unlike the first two days of opening flights, when we were still toiling in the weekdays, the entry count took a deliberate march higher while registration was open. It’s a bit different today and the number is clicking up at a nice, steady pace as we near 70 in the first hour.

This will turn out to be the biggest flight so far with two monsters yet to go.

Wayne Daley is among the early crew looking for another WPTDeepStacks Tampa cash. He made two trips to the payout cage last year including a deep run in the Main Event.

Event 3: Ramses Rosa Wins Mixed Omaha Title

Event 3
$360 Pot Limit Omaha 8/Big O (Re-Entry)

Prize Pool: $10,500
June 6, 2019

Ramses Rosa

The WPTDeepStacks Tampa series hit the second day on the schedule and we continue to bring you a steady dose of non-hold’em games. On Thursday it was a $360 buy-in Pot Limit Omaha 8/Big O mix and Ramses Rosa won the second SHR Tampa title of his career.

Tampa loves Omaha and the tournament drew 35 entries on weekday afternoon to create a prize pool worth $10,500. Several of our top players joined the field including Scott Anderson, Wally Maddah, and Event 1 champ Mario De La Puente.

After a long grind, they made the final table and into the money with four getting paid. They played it all the way out and Rosa earned $4,620 plus the guitar trophy after defeating Michael Bozeman heads-up.

This is the second time Rosa took home a title and his first since 2011. That one came in an Omaha 8 game so look out for him when we run the next. Rosa picked up the biggest cash of his career last week when he banked more than $20,000 for a fourth-place finish in the Memorial Day weekend $150 Big Stack Special.

Event 3 results:

1st: Ramses Rosa – $4,620 + Guitar trophy
2nd: Michael Bozeman – $2,625
3rd: Doug Arcadi – $1,890
4th: Ronald Brown – $1,365

Complete 2019 WPTDeepStacks Tampa Schedule

WPTDeepStacks Day 2 Recap

Thursday was another good day in the Poker Room and it sets up the WPTDeepStacks Tampa series for a big weekend. We ran two more flights of $360 buy-in/$250,000 Guaranteed Event 1 and the tournament is on a pace to fly by that number. With three of the seven starting flights locked up, we have 288 entries in the game with 41 players booking a seat in Day 2 on Sunday.

John Sellars was the big bag in Flight C and his 263,000 puts in second overall with a lot of action yet to come. Tampa winner Tom Nguyen was also among those advancing and we will post the entire list as soon as it is available.

In one-day trophy event news, the Pot Limit Omaha 8/Big O tournament is nearing its final table but they’ll have some work to do with only four getting paid. We will post the complete results first thing in the morning.

Tomorrow’s schedule is similar to today. We have two more flights of Event 1 running; one at 11 am and another at 6 pm. The non-hold’em game of the day is Event 4 with a $360 buy-in and Limit Omaha 8/Stud 8 mix to keep things interesting.
