With 846 entries in Flight G (and registration open for another hour and a half), the total field size is up to 4,705, which means the total prizepool has more than doubled the $1 million guarantee, currently worth a little more than $2.02 million.

As the Money Bubble was about to begin, there was a hand already in progress where three players were all in and a fourth was tanking about whether or not to call.

Joe Alcala moved all in under the gun for about 60,000, and Grant Missonis moved all in over the top from middle position for about 150,000. Anthony Goodwyn called from the hijack and prematurely revealed his cards — — before quickly flipping them back over.

Collins Delpercio moved all in from the big blind for about 230,000, and a couple of players say they are pretty sure he didn’t see the cards that were revealed.

So three players were all in, and action was back on Goodwyn, who had about 153,000 behind, and needed to call an additional 80,000 or so to stay in the pot.

At this point, there were 137 players remaining in the field, and the tournament clock was paused as the other tables played their in-progress hands to conclusion. Understandably, a crowd started to build around this table.

Eventually, Goodwyn called, and all four players turned over their cards. Here they are in descending order of chip counts:

The board came — Missonis paired his queen on the flop for additional outs, but nobody improved any further. The pocket kings held up for Delpercio to scoop the entire pot, doubling thru Goodwyn and eliminating Missonis and Alcala.

As it turned out, there had been two eliminations almost simultaneously as they were reaching the Money Bubble, so the field was already down to the 136 players who would finish in the money. The tournament staff double-checked by counting the field, and everyone was in the money, including the two players (Missonis and Alcala) who were eliminated on this hand.

Everything is a little fluid in the Event Center at the start of the evening hours. With Flight F playing down closer to the bubble and breaking tables that are quickly filled with Flight G players.

While all that is going on, Fred Dabus is making a run for the end-of-day chip lead with the bubble less than 50 eliminations away. He is still with a couple stacks worth 404,000 and looking good in late play.

The last flight of Event 1 is following the pattern of the 10 am session. A lot of players are hitting the registration line and they combined to create another record for our property.

The 432 entries so far put the combined total at 4,291 for a prize pool over $1.8 million. That makes this the biggest prize pool in our history, topping the $1,760,430 prize pool for the 2020 WSOP Circuit Tampa Main Event.

Next stop; $2,000,000 prize pool if/when Flight G reaches 711 entries.

The third break of Flight F has come and gone and action is back underway with approximately 279 players remaining. They will cruise through another four levels before the next break when the money bubble will be near with 136 getting paid.

The biggest stack in the room looks like it belongs to Dan Stavila. He returned to a castle in the works with 272,500 going into the latter part of the flight.

The last flight of record-setting WPT Tampa Event 1 gets underway at 5 pm in the Event Center and it will add more to the record books before too long. The tournament already created the biggest starting flight in our history and the biggest prize pool is on the horizon.

Flight G players will start with 20,000 double stacks and all Day 1 levels last 30 minutes. Late registration is available until the start of Level 9 at 9:30 pm but they are limited to a single re-entry if they are eliminated.

The flight will pay out the last 12.5% of the field and the day will come to end with only 7% remains to advance to Day 2 tomorrow at 2pm.

Things are calming a bit in the Event Center. With registration closed the field is only getting smaller now and half the room has been cleared out. Just in time for Flight G to get off in little more than an hour.

We found Eric Rivera at it again. The visitor from the north is building another stack with 175,000 at the midpoint of the day. Rivera had a big stack in two other flights but was unable to ride to a Day 2 seat, hoping to change that today.
