Man, were we wrong.

It seemed a pretty solid bet that the break after Level 12 would be the last, with the money bubble not far off. Then they went into grind mode, played two more hours before taking another break, and one more level to burst the bubble.

But they got there and will roll their blinds all the way back to 2,000/4,000 on Sunday.

Josh Nicholson bagged the biggest stack with 570,000 and Luke Torres was not far behind with 549,000.

It didn’t take very long to get there.

Midway through Level 2, entry 49 hit Flight F and TPC Event 1 officially surpassed its $150,000. The prize pool will continue to grow, with registration open tonight until 10:30 pm and a big Saturday flight at 11 am.

Registration closed for Flight E of TPC Event 1, with 118 entries, putting the combined total at 406 for the tournament. They would need only 50 new entries to surpass the $150,000 guarantee, and they will get there tonight, then blast it tomorrow for the Saturday flight.

Play will continue until 15 players remain and they will bag up their chips for a Day 2 return on Sunday at 11 am. Players must bag chips to cash in the tournament.
