The dealers are ready to go and the early entry players are milling around the poker room waiting to kick off the final flight of the $300,000 Guarantee WPTDeepStacks Tampa Main Event. The prize pool crossed over the guarantee early yesterday and today we expect to push to nearly double that amount.

The $1,100 buy-in tournament a combined 345 entries over the first two flights and Saturday afternoon in the poker room should be hopping.

Each entrant will sit down to a 25,000 deep starting stack and all levels last 40 minutes. Late registration and re-entries are available until the start of Level 10 at 6:30pm, closing down new entries into the Main Event for good. They will play through 15 full levels and survivors will bag up for a Day 2 return tomorrow joining the 66 that advanced from the first two flights.

The day has come to an end for the 30 remaining Flight B players. Julio Marerro held off Brandon Byars to put 338,500 in his bag, good enough to take the overall lead away from Corey Lipke.

Byars was sitting in second with 313,000 but Li Zhou jumped ahead of him with 319,000 after she knocked two players out to finish the day.

Level 12 is nearing the ten-minute mark and that is when tournament staff will pause the clock and each of the tables will play the same number of hands to finish the day.

Brandon Byars is making a bid to catch Julio Marrero in the late stages. He is up to 260,000 and he has a shot.

Flight B is down to the last level of the evening with 39 players remaining and we expect to lose a few more before they bag up their chips.

Julio Marrero moved to the top of the counts and his 325,000 has him in good position to end the day with the overall lead in the Main Event.

We caught the action after the preflop action was complete and Michael Gallo was all in against two other opponents. Gallo was under the gun facing the cutoff and button players.

The button player looked good for a double knockout with the queens but Gallo caught the board. He knocked one player out and took a big chunk from the button.

Cards are back in the air and Flight B players are prepared to play out the rest of their day. They will play through Level 15 and anyone with chips will put them in a bag for a Day 2 return on Sunday.

Ryan Luker is the latest at the top of the counts and his 184,000 leads all. He’s looking for another nice run after making the final table in last year’s WPTDeepStack Tampa Main Event where he finished in fifth place for $37,781.

We did not see the preflop action but Len Demchak had the big blind player all in and at risk for a big pot. Demchak was dominating with against and flopped top two on the board.

The turn left his opponent drawing dead to two chop outs, either one of the remaining threes, and the river sent his stack up to 149,000.
