Dawn Weaver

Dawn Weaver moved all in from middle position for 12,000, James Toole called from the hijack, Todd Wilkins called from the small blind, and Amie Martini called from the big blind. Any further betting would create a side pot.

All three players checked to the turn on a board of 10c6d5hQs, Wilkins checked, and Martini bet 12,000. Toole called, and Wilkins folded.

The river card was the 8h, and both players checked. Everyone turned over their cards.

Amie Martini:  KcQc10h9c  (two pair, queens and tens, no low)
James Toole:  AsKd7d3h  (ace high, 8-6-5-3-A low)
Dawn Weaver:  AcKs4s4c  (pair of fours, 8-6-5-4-A low)

Martini won the high side of the entire pot with her two pair, and Toole won the low side, barely beating Weaver’s low. Weaver was eliminated in eighth place.

Dawn Weaver  –  Eliminated in 8th Place  ($1,038)

With seven players remaining, the average chip stack is about 151,000 (13 big bets). The next player to bust will earn $1,218.

We’re getting a nice turnout for the $400 Limit Omaha 8 tournament in the front area of the Event Center. They have 63 entries in the game before the first break and there should be a few more with registration open until 3:30 pm.

Chris Tryba made his way to the Tampa area for the series and jumped right in. The last time we saw the WSOP bracelet winner cash a tournament, it was in Hollywood when he won the $400 Omaha 8/Stud 8 Poker Showdown tournament. A nice split pot heater coming in.

Ryan Hogan Captures Event 3 Title in Three-Way Deal

2020 Winter Poker Open

Event 3
$200 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Entries: 203
Prize Pool: $32,480
December 6, 2020

Event 2 wasn’t the only tournament in the Poker Room on Sunday, we also had a one-day tournament for those who missed out on the big day or dropped out early. The $200 buy-in tournament drew 203 entries and Ryan Hogan outlasted them all to take home $6,500 along with the guitar trophy.

Event 3 continued the great trend we’ve had this series and the small buy-in tournament put together a big $32,480 prize pool with 21 players taking home a piece.

Roberto Molina was notable at the final table where he picked up his second cash of the day. He was the Day 2 returning chip leader for Event 2 but a bad run had him going out 56th of 811 for $910. Molina took his payout, jumped in Event 3, and finished seventh for another $1,169.

After Philip Robey’s elimination in fourth place, the three remaining players came to an agreement to chop up the remaining prize pool. As the chip leader, Hogan was awarded the title, the cash, and a nice guitar to hang on his wall.

Congrats to Ryan and more thanks to our players for another great day.

Final table results:

1st: Ryan Hogan – $6,500 + Guitar Trophy *
2nd: Eric Walling – $5,384 *
3rd: William McPhillips – $4,500 *
4th: Philip Robey – $2,209
