Before the WPT main tour came to town, we hosted the WPTDeepStacks tour during our summer series. We ran four Main Events and Anthony Astarita was the first to lift the trophy, now he can make some history by winning our first WPT Tampa Championship.

Today’s entry count includes Janet Berg-Thornton and she’s trying to do something unique over the next few days; trying to spin $80 into a WPT title.
Berg-Thornton entered one of our $80 step satellites, won a seat into a WPT Tampa Championship satellite, then won a seat into the Championship itself this morning.
We’ll be keeping an eye on her trip through the big tournament.

We have 260 entries at the start with many more expected today with registration open until approximately 9:15 pm.

The day is finally here; today we kick off our first-ever WPT Tampa Championship. After hosting many WPTDeepStacks Main Events, the main tour comes to town with all the bells and whistles along the way.
The headliner event has a $3,500 buy-in with a $2,000,000 guaranteed prize pool and two starting flights. The first gets going this morning at 11 am with the second running tomorrow at the same time.
Players start with 40,000 stacks out front and they will run hour-long levels for the first two days, increasing to 90 minutes on Days 3 and 4. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 around 9:15 pm and they have a dinner break around 5:30 pm.
It’s an exciting time to play poker in Tampa and we are thrilled to have the WPT in town.

With the day off from his full-time job due to the national holiday, Presidents Day, Harmeet Singh entered the final event of this series, the $250 Double Stack. It ended up being a Presidents Day to remember, as Singh not only final tabled the event with a friend, but Singh went on to win his first WSOP Circuit ring and $17,990.
“It’s the best feeling for any poker player,” said Singh after his victory, “and I really appreciate it.
When the final river card hit, the fifth-place finisher, Siddharth Siddharth, seemed even more excited for Singh than Singh was for himself. Singh introduced Siddharth to poker, and taught him a lot about the game.
“I introduced him to poker,” said Singh, who then began speaking about the person who helped guide him through the poker world. “My teacher has been my uncle, Raminder Singh, who has already won a WSOP Circuit ring. He is my mentor. He’s a teacher, a poker player, he’s my friend, he’s my parent, he’s my everything.” (Raminder Singh not only has a WSOP Circuit ring on his resume, but he is one of the winningest players in Seminole Hard Rock history with six trophies. )
The $17,990 that Singh won in this event was the second largest cash of his career, but if poker continues for him the same way that it has for his Uncle Raminder, then he has many more victories to look forward to.

It only seems appropriate that we would close out our first WSOP Circuit series with another blasting of a guarantee. The $250 Double Stack Event 14 drew 455 entries to push the $50,000 up to $91,000 and we couldn’t be happier.
The last 69 players will make the money with $365 for a min-cash and $17,990 plus the ring for the champion.

We are down to the last day of the WSOP Circuit series and kick off the last tournament on the schedule at 11 am in the Event Center. It is a $250 buy-in Double Stack NLH game with a $50,000 guaranteed prize pool.
Players will sit down to 20,000 starting stacks and all levels will last 20 minutes. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 1:50 pm with a 30-minute dinner break following Level 16.
This will be a big way to close out the series and it will draw a great crowd.
