“Hey, get my picture. I’m the chip leader now,” Johnny Bromberg called over. The media desk is next to Table 64, so it’s easy to reach us.

Bromberg, the 2023 SHRPO Event 1 winner and $1,100 SPS Event 7 final table member, is up to 183,000 and looks like he was correct about the lead. He has a tough spot to his right with Event 10 champ Shane Melert having position.

The first break ended with 81 entries in the mix, already pushing the prize pool over the $50,000 guarantee. A great turnout, with registration still open for two more hours.

Nick Koeln is the early leader with 102,200 and the only player in six digits. A few players are close, but he’s tops now with some tough talent trying to chase him down.

The $1,100 Six-Handed tournament kicked off at noon with a nice group in early action. Halfway to the guarantee as cards went in the air and more are expected before registration closes at 4:30 pm.

One trophy event on today’s SPS schedule and it will be action-packed from start to finish. Event 11 is a Six-Handed NLH tournament with a $1,100 buy-in and $50,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Players start with 30K deep stacks and all levels last 30 minutes for the one-day tournament. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 4:30 pm. They will enjoy a 30-minute dinner break at 6:30 pm and return to continue the march to another SPS champion.
