Eric Tarikas was among the leaders heading into the bubble play and added a bit more. He open-shipped from the small blind, Don Linsky called at risk, and Tarikas held with versus to burst the bubble.

He also stacked up to 706,000 and the big leader of Flight C and second stack overall with three flights to go.

The fourth flight of WPO Event 1 gets underway at 6 pm and the $400 No-Limit Hold’em tournament is only 74 new entries away from topping its $200,000 guarantee. It won’t take long this evening to match it.

They’ll sit down to 30,000 in their stacks and the first 19 levels last 30 minutes before going to 40 for the duration. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 10:30 pm.

Flight D will continue until 12.5% of the field remains and they will move on to Day 2 on Sunday at 11 am in the money.

The (probable) last break of the day ended and players returned to their seats with Jacob Naumann the new big stack in the room. He is up to 296,000 while former leader Frank Spaulding is doing just fine with 262,000.

They will play until 25 players remain and it’s unlikely they see another break before bagging.

While players were on their second break and tournament staff were coloring off the black chips, we wandered the tables to check for our leaders.

Frank Spaulding was tops in the field after eight levels, his 203,000 the only stack over 200K. Goran Dragicevic was not far behind with 190,500 and Jacob Naumann is doing just fine with 168,500.

Registration closed for Flight C of WPT Event 1 with another 195 entries; the combined total is up to 533 with three more flights to go. They have contributed $175,890 to the prize pool and the $200,000 guarantee will be topped in Flight D which starts at 6 pm.
