Glyn Griffis

The 2023 Pinktober Poker Open kicked off the schedule with a big $200 buy-in tournament that crushed its $100,000 guarantee when it put 1,305 entries in the game. After six starting flights and a long Day 2, Glyn Griffis walked away with the series’ first trophy and $29,065 after a heads-up deal.

Our players combined to double up the guarantee and put $208,800 in the prize pool. Of those 1,305 starters, we had 133 advance to Day 2 on Sunday, all in the money and ready to go.

That made for quick work in the Poker Room, and they reached the final table in the early evening. Mahmoud Bidarian led the last nine players but Griffis took the lead as players dropped out. After former Tampa champ Edgardo Rosario was eliminated in third, Bidarian and Griffis decided to divide the remaining prize pool down the middle.

Griffis was the leader at the time and took the top spot, earning $29,065 and the first trophy of the series.

Congrats Glyn!
