John McConnell
We heard yelling from across the room and hustled over to see what was the fuss. It was a big, crazy hand.
As reconstructed from first-hand accounts and math, it was a three-way pot with the flop reading when all three stacks went in the middle. Event 2 champ John McConnell was the shortest stack with ~15,600 up against Dan Parsons with ~23,900 and Jason Glover with ~30,100.
McConnell: Parsons: Glover:
It was set-over-set-over-top/top with McConnell only 5% to win the hand. The turn improved his chances and the river locked up his runner-runner full house and caused the table eruption.
McConnell tripled up with his boat, Parsons picked up a rebate with his smaller boat, and Glove was left the shortest after the hand.
John McConnell – 46,800 Dan Parsons – 16,600 Jason Glover – 6,200

Flight E Chipleader John Gordon
Flight E came to an end with about 20 minutes remaining in Level 20, with blinds at 6,000-12,000 and a 12,000 ante. However, since one of the earlier flights ended near the start of Level 19, Day 2 will begin no later than that, when the blinds were 5,000-10,000 with a 10,000 ante.
Action was scheduled to end when the field reached 49 players, but when that happened, another player was eliminated from a hand that was already in progress. So this flight ended with 48 survivors.
The Flight E chipleader is John Gordon, who bagged up 676,000 in chips. (The overall chipleader is still Simeon Knafo, who survived Flight C with 1,050,000.) The official chip counts from Flight E can be found in the list below.
Flight F begins tomorrow (Saturday) at 10:00 am, and Flight G begins at 5:00 pm.
