Edgardo Rosario

We mentioned Edgardo Rosario was building a stack earlier and now he has the biggest. Last year’s runner-up leads the field after the second break with 193,600 and it looks like Matt Sesso sits in second with 164,000.

Flight C will make it through three more levels before players will take their 60-minute dinner break.

James Calderaro (left), Rob Manjura (center), and Shawn Cunix (right)

We found one of the more interesting lineups in today’s action in the middle of the room. Seats 1 through 3 are occupied by James Calderaro, Rob Manjura, and Shawn Cunix and it will not be a boring day.

Calderaro owns a $25K WSOP PLO bracelet, Cunix has a WPT title, and Manjura can compete with either of them on a skill level. But being sandwiched between them, he’ll need some patience (and maybe a pair of headphones) to deal with two of the more jovial, entertaining, talkative players in the tournament.

Main Event Day 1C: Edgardo Rosario Making Another Run

Edgardo Rosario

This time last year, the Winter Poker Open reintroduced big-field poker tournaments following the lockdown and we had a huge turnout. That Main Event came down to a heads-up battle between Edgardo Rosario and Max Young.

Rosario fell one spot short of the title, finished second for $158K, and now setting himself up for another deep run. He stacked up to 128,000 in the middle of Level 5 and among the early leaders.

Fernando Rodriguez

Flight C is up to 270 entries and looking to hit 300 with little effort this afternoon. We see more friendly faces joining the field with more expected until registration closes.

Recently we found Fernando Rodriguez, Robert Constable, John Dolan, TK Miles, Nicole Diaz, Wally Maddah, Ryan Luker, and Rob Manjura.
