Flight C came to an end with 48 players advancing to Day 2 and Alek Rusinovas finished huge. He put 948,000 in his bag for a massive lead coming back for the restart at noon on Sunday. Jebhar Patterson also had a huge run at the end when he picked up aces against William Aponte’s kings to bag 705,000.

We have 105 players returning with 97 getting paid and $213K awaiting the champion.

We will post the complete Day 2 chips counts and seat assignments as soo as they are available late this evening.

Flight C reached the last level of the night with 56 players remaining and Alex Rusinovas continues to run away with the lead. We know that we will have a new WPO Main Event champ after Max Young ran big slick into kings to go out in the last level.

Once they are done, chips will be bagged and we will post the Day 2 chips and seat draw later this evening.

Flight C players returned from break and are set to work through the last two levels of the day.

Everyone is chasing one massive stack in the room. Alex Rusinovas blasted off and came back from break to a pile worth 703,000. That would be good enough for the Day 2 lead and he has two levels to run it up.

A reliable source said that a lot of those chips came from a cooler hand against Mansoor Kader. Both flopped trip aces, the chips went in, and Rusinovas’s big slick out kicked Kader’s ace-queen.

William Aponte sits in second with 415,000 followed by Chrissy Holubeck with 395,000 and Sebastian De Narvaez with 373,000.

We were on the other side of the room when we heard a familiar voice raised up high.

“Pair the board!” we heard from Tommy Bates.

We got there in time to see him all in for 78,500 against Edgardo Rosario with the flop reading 9c6c5c. Bates flopped a set with 5s5d but didn’t need to pair the board against Rosario’s AcTd, he only needed to fade a club.

The Js turn and 7h river finished the board and Bates doubled up.

“I’m back in the game boys!” Bates told them. “You’re gonna have to pry these chips out of my hand.”

With a slower pace than the first two flights, we aren’t seeing any massive stacks pulling away from the pack. While dinner break leader Tim Conn dropped back a bit to 335,000, Chrissy Holubeck went the other way and looks like the current leader with 342,000.

Flight C will play out Level 12 before taking the last break of the day.
