$50,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 1: 100/100

The last flight of Super Stacks Event 1 gets underway at 10 am and the tournament is already a success. The first two flights of the $400 buy-in tournament drew a combined 270 entries to easily surpass the $50,000 guarantee. So far over that it will hit a $100,000 prize pool early today, if not at the start.

Players start with 30,000 deep stacks and all Day 1 levels last 40 minutes, going up to 60 on Day 2 and 90 after Level 26. Late registration will remain open until the start of Day 2 on Sunday at noon and players may re-enter at any point during that time.

Flight C will come to an end after Level 14 and those with chips will bag them up and join the 41 who advanced from the first two flights.

We expect a big day in the Poker Room, come out early and get your seat.

Event 1 Day 1B: David Ormsbee Bags the Most

$400 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$50,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 14:  2,000/3,000 with a 3,000 ante
Day 1B Entries:  148

David Ormsbee

Flight B came to an end with 23 players advancing to Day 2 along with the 18 from yesterday. The board shows 148 entries for a combined total of 270 so far leaving only 29 more needed to push the prize pool over $100,000. That will happen very early on Saturday.

Mina Tawfik was the Flight B chip leader right up until the end until he sent a double up across the table. That made David Ormsbee your Flight B leader with 353,000 followed by Manny Minaya (331,000), Ryan Luker (278,000), Tawfik (267,000), and Mark Wiser (263,000.

We will post the full chip counts as soon as they are available.

Mina Tawfik

Flight B reached the last level of the night with 24 players remaining and 40 minutes to go. Mina Tawfik is among the big stacks we’re tracking right now, his 338,000 put him in contention for the chip lead at the end of the night.

They will work down through Level 14 and we will post the end-of-flight counts when they are available.

Event 1 Day 1B: Ryan Luker Rollercoaster

$400 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$50,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 13:  1,000/2,500 with a 2,500 ante
Day 1B Entries:  148

Ryan Luker

We are down to 27 players at the midpoint of Level 13, a little faster pace than yesterday and that means other players are joining Manny Minaya in the big-stack departement.

Former WPTDeepStacks Tampa final tablist Ryan Luker was up big early, dropped down to the common stacks in the middle, and now back among the leaders. He has 288,000 out front with a little over one hour to go.

Event 1 Day 1B: Manny Minaya Up Top

$400 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$50,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 12:  1,000/2,000 with a 2,000 ante
Day 1B Entries:  145

Manny Minaya

The last break is complete and we have a new player sitting on top of the counts but it’s a familiar face. Manny Minaya owns two SHR Tampa guitars from Winter Poker Open wins and now sits in good shape with 344,000 in today’s event.

That’s good enough for the lead with three levels to go today.

Event 1 Day 1B: Five Tables Remain

$400 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$50,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 11:  1,000/1,500 with a 1,500 ante
Day 1B Entries:  142

Wally Maddah

We’ve reached the portion of the day when more players are eliminated than those that join in the fun. Tournament staff broke the field down to the last five tables of the day plus a few empty seats for newcomers. That leaves approximately 38 players trying to advance with a little over three levels left in the day.

Wally Maddah was among the most recent eliminations of the day when his pocket nines could not beat the pocket tens of Jeremy Becker.

Event 1 Day 1B: Mina Tawfik Returns

$400 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$50,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 10:  500/1,500 with a 1,500 ante
Day 1B Entries:  139

Mina Tawfik

Mina Tawfik took an extended dinner break, more than a level and half while the others toiled to build a stack. He was the chip leader coming back and is still the chip leader now that he has returned to his seat.

Tawfik donated 10K of his stack to his tablemates but his 253,500 still puts him ahead of the rest of the field.
