Structure | Payouts
Level 20:  6,000/12,000 with a 12,000 ante
Players Remaining:  6 of 70

In a Pot Limit Omaha hand, Justin Harrell open the action from under the gun and Cody Hernandez called from the hijack to a Kc7h6h flop. Harrell checked, Hernandez bet 35,000 and Harrell called.

The turn came As, Harrell checked, Hernandez bet 65,000 and Harrell check-raised enough to put Hernandez all in. He called for 155,000 total and was the one at risk.

Hernandez: AhKhQd7d
Harrell: JdTh7c8c

Hernandez was ahead with aces up and the nut flush draw and it held after the Js river.

Cody Hernandez – 425,000 (35 bb)
Justin Harrell – 370,000 (31 bb)

Event 5: Filipp Khavin – 7th Place ($2,594)

$1,100 No Limit Hold’em/Pot Limit Omaha (Re-Entry)
Structure | Payouts
Level 18:  5,000/10,000 with a 10,000 ante
Players Remaining:  6 of 70

In a No Limit Hold’em hand, Justin Harrell and Filipp Khavin got into a battle of the blind and Khavin was all in for ~140,000.

Harrell: KcQd
Khavin: JdJs

It was a race and Khavin needed to stay in the lead to stay in the game. The flop came AcKhTh to pair Harrell’s king and another came on the Ks turn. The board finished with the 6c river and Khavin was eliminated in seventh place.

Justin Harrell – 390,000 (39 bb)
Filipp Khavin – Eliminated in 7th Place ($2,594)

Event 5: Alec Bradlow Doubles Through Justin Harrell

$1,100 No Limit Hold’em/Pot Limit Omaha (Re-Entry)
Structure | Payouts
Level 17:  4,000/8,000 with a 8,000 ante
Players Remaining:  7 of 70

In a PLO hand, Alec Bradlow opened to 16,000 from under and only Justin Harrell came along to the 9d8s4d flop. Bradlow moved all in for 56,000 and Harrell (reluctantly) called.

Bradlow: AsAhQc3d
Harrell: Ks7s7d5h

Bradlow was ahead with his pair of aces and needed to dodge a gutshot or some miracle runout to double. The 9c turn was safe and Bradlow had his double after the 4s river.

Alec Bradlow – 156,000 (20 bb)
Justin Harrell – 340,000 (43 bb)

Event 5: Andrew Whitaker – 9th Place ($1,887)

Structure | Payouts
Level 17:  3,000/6,000 with a 6,000 ante
Players Remaining:  8 of 70

Action folded to Filipp Khavin in the cutoff and he moved all in for 100,000 even. Andrew Whitaker reshipped from the small blind with a similar stack to get a fold from Alec Bradlow in the big.

Khavin: AcKc
Whitaker: AhQs

Khavin was in great shape and dodged the Jc9s2s flop. Whitaker picked up a spade draw on the 3s turn but blanked the 5h river to exit in ninth place.

Filipp Khavin – 212,000 (35 bb)
Andrew Whitaker – Eliminated in 9th Place ($1,887)

Event 5: Dinner Time Counts

Structure | Payouts
Level 16:  2,500/5,000 with a 5,000 ante
Players Remaining:  9 of 70

With the very deep stacks, it was no surprise there was little major activity outside of short-stacked Derek Worley doubling to not be a short stack.

Level 16 came to an end and tournament staff sent the nine remaining players on a 40-minute dinner break.

Event 5: Derek Worley Doubles Through Justin Harrell

$1,100 No Limit Hold’em/Pot Limit Omaha (Re-Entry)

RJ Sullivan

Less than five minutes after returning from break, Event 5 was on the bubble. And through it in a blink.

Before they could go into hand-for-hand mode, RJ Sullivan eliminated Jeffrey Russell to put the field in the money with barely a blink.

That leaves them two knockouts away from the final table for a quick trip to a trophy.

2nd: $13,189
3rd: $8,738
4th: $6,033

Justin Harrell’s stack awaiting his return

Event 5 broke down to two tables with 16 players remaining and only ten minutes until the next break. It lost three more players to leave them two away from the money coming back to Level 13 and Justin Harrell is up top with 412,000.

Event 5: Quick to Two Tables

Structure | Payouts

Players Remaining:  16 of 70

Just like that, Event 5 is down to two tables and not that far from the money with 11 getting paid. There are a lot of big cash games going, including a fun $30/$60 Mixed Game drawing attention, and that has the NLH/PLO tournament flying.

Two big stacks have emerged late; Justin Harrel leads the way with 231,500 but Cody Hernandez is not far behind with 224,000.
