Poe thought for a minute and called.

Poe: 5s2s
Murphy: 9s8s

“Oh,” was all Poe could muster.

Murphy was ahead with the bigger cards and better draws. The Qd turn changed nothing but Poe paired his five on the 5d river to send her out in ninth place.

Melody Murphy – Eliminated in 9th Place ($1,056)

Mario Alonso

Karl Manouchakian was eliminated shortly before the dinner break and the field was on the money bubble with 13 remaining. Tournament staff pushed the clock past the dinner break until they reached the money.

On the third hand of the bubble, WSOPC Coco ring winner Mark Stephen Edwards opened the action, Joshua Poe called from the small blind, and Mario Alonso moved all in for 21,000 from the big. Both live players called the shove and the flop was Ad7d2h.

Poe checked and Edwards bet 15,000 to get a fold.

Edwards: Ac5d
Alonso: Kh7h

Alonso paired the board but so did Edwards and his ace was ahead. The 9h turn and Ts river finished the board to send Alonso out on the bubble and the remaining players on dinner break.
