Event 3 Flight B: Building on the First Flight

$100,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 3: 75/150
Flight B Entries: 75 (Total Entries: 208)

Jeff Morzella

Flight B is living up the expectations of the big opening session and the tournament is already better than halfway to the $100,000 guaranteed prize pool with more than three hours of registration this evening and two flights tomorrow.

Jeff Morzella is back with us and trying to build a bag for Wednesday. Right now the two-time Tampa winner is having a good time at this table with Wally Maddah but they’ll knuckle down before the end of the night.

Event 3 Flight A: Herbert Woodbery Bags Huge

$350 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$100,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 14: 1,500/3,000 with a 400 ante
Flight A Players Remaining: 21 of 133

Herbert Woodbery

Daniel Ramirez had a great a shot to bag the end-of-flight lead and would be in any other flight besides this one. He put away 296,000 for an impressive bag but Herbert Woodbery went huge with a whopping 556,000 for the overall lead.

And one the likely will not be top in the next three flights.

Flight A ended with 21 players remaining and they will return on Wednesday for Day 2.

Full chip counts will be posted as soon as they are available.

Event 3 Flight A: Last Level

$350 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$100,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 14: 1,500/3,000 with a 400 ante
Flight A Players Remaining: 25 of 133

Flight A has reached the level of the day with 25 players trying to maintain their stacks for a Day 2 return or run one up. They’ll continue until ten minutes are left on the clock and then each table will play a random number of hands before they bag.

Event 3 Flight A: Herbert Woodbery Way Out Front

$350 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$100,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 13: 1,200/2,400 with a 400 ante
Flight A Players Remaining: 29 of 133

We didn’t have to go very far to find our final break chip leader. Herbert Woodbery was still in a hand as the rest of the players left the area and he added to his stack. His 3c2c was good against Ah4h on the Ac7c4c flop and he avoided a boat on the turn and river to knock a player out.

Woodbery is now hovering around 300,000 which is far and away the chip lead.

They will play out two more levels and surivors will bag up for a Day 2 return on Wednesday.

Event 3 Flight A: Christina Read Makes a Good Lay Down

$350 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$100,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 12: 1,000/2,000 with a 300 ante
Flight A Players Remaining: 35 of 133

Christina Read

With the board reading AhAs3s4s, Christina Read bet 19,000 and Daniel Ramirez moved all in for 96,000. That was enough to cover Read’s stack and she would be the one at risk if she called.

She thought about it for a few minutes, checked her cards, had the clock called, and mucked pocket queens face up. Ramirez told her it was a good lay down before flipping up his pocket kings. Read is still working with double starting stack while Ramirez, a two-time Tampa tournament winner, moved further over 100,000.

Event 3 Flight A: Herbert Woodbery Building

$350 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$100,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 11: 800/1,600 with a 200 ante
Flight A Players Remaining: 44 of 133

Herbert Woodbery

Jason Durant isn’t the only with a big stack now. Tampa regular Herbert Woodbery is now among the leaders as well and stacked up to 120,000 with only a few more levels remaining in the day.

The field is dropping quickly and we should be down to four tables in no time. We expect to have around 26 players still around to bag after Level 14.

Event 3 Flight A: Jason Durant Leads

$350 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$100,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 10: 600/1,200 with a 200 ante
Flight A Players Remaining: 56 of 133

Jason Durant

We found a few big stacks on the last break but one stopped us in our tracks when we got to Table 1. While some players were tooling around in the high 70Ks, Jason Durant was sitting in the front of the poker room with 120,000 awaiting his return.

That’s good for the chips lead and it will be right around chip average if he wants to coast to a bag after Level 14.

Event 3 Flight A: Registration Closed with 133 Entries

$350 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$100,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 9: 500/1,000 with a 100 ante
Flight A Players Remaining: 67 of 133

Registration is now closed on Flight A of Event 3 and it is officially a great turnout. We saw 133 entries in the tournament to put them 40% of the way to the $100,000 with three more flights to go. This was the smallest of the four flights in 2017 so we should see a huge prize pool by the time they close the doors for good tomorrow night.
