Event 3: Wally Maddah Doubles Through Wesley Skinner

$350 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$100,000 Guaranteed | Payouts
Level 19: 6,000/12,000 with a 2,000 ante
Players Remaining: 31 of 560

Wally Maddah

Wesley Skinner opened to 30,000 from middle position and Wally Maddah called in the small blind.

“I check dark,” Maddah said.

The flop came 9h7c2d and Skinner bet 50,000. Maddah cut down his remaining stack of 99,000.

“I’m behind,” Maddah said. “I know it.”

He still pushed his stack forward, Skinner called, and Maddah was correct that he was behind.

Maddah: TcTs
Skinner: JsJd

Maddah was in rough shape until the turn came Td for the two out lead. To rub a little salt in the wound, he spiked the Th river for overkill quads.

Wally Maddah – 290,000
Wesley Skinner – 275,000

Ten on the turn (and that is Skinner’s unbelieving hand)

Event 3: Brandon Byars Cracks Kings; Doubles Through Michael Imperiale

$350 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$100,000 Guaranteed | Payouts
Level 19: 6,000/12,000 with a 2,000 ante
Players Remaining: 33 of 560

Brandon Byars

We caught the action in the middle of the hand but it seems Michael Imperiale limped under the gun and found no action until Brandon Byars completed in the small blind. Ok Haselton checked her option in the big blind to the 7h5s2h flop.

Byars moved all in for 74,000 and Haselton released before Imperiale called.

Imperiale: KcKh
Byars: 7d5d

“I should have raised,” Imperiale said. “I was expecting action from you guys (pointing to his left).”

Byars was ahead with sevens up and found a double as the board finished 7c3s to give him a boat.

Byars – 160,000
Imperiale – 370,000

Event 3: Four Tables Remain

$100,000 Guaranteed | Payouts
Level 18: 5,000/10,000 with a 1,000 ante
Players Remaining: 46 of 560

Wayne Daley

Wayne Daley came into the day with one of the bigger stacks and was still in good shape with 180,000. But he found himself in a tough spot when he was all in against the bigger stack of Devon Felix holding a lesser hand.

Daley: 9d9c
Felix: JcJs

Daley needed a miracle to stick around and missed the Kc8h5h flop. He added a gutshot draw on the 7d turn and hit a set on the 9h for the big double.

Herbert Woodbery

Players continued to hit the rail at regular intervals but there’s been no change at the top of the leaderboard. Herbert Woodbery still leads the way with half of the starting Day 2 field gone. He’s sitting with 675,000 and Darrell Rodgers looks like the second biggest with 560,000.

They are counting down Level 17 and will soon go on an extended 20-minute break to color off the purple chips.

Event 3: Ten Quick Eliminations

$100,000 Guaranteed | Payouts
Level 17: 4,000/8,000 with a 1,000 ante

Julio Fernandez

As soon as the bubble burst, we had a run of shorter stacks to the payout desk and a table dropped in a hurry. Among the early knockouts we found Julio Fernandez, Mark “Bud” Wiser, and Barbara Cardin.

Event 3: No Bubble Play

$350 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$100,000 Guaranteed | Payouts
Level 16: 3,000/6,000 with a 500 ante
Players Remaining: 70 of 560

Darrell Rodgers

With 73 players remaining, Darrell Rodgers was in a huge three-way pot. His pocket kings held up against AhKh and AdTd to knock two players out and put Event 3 on the money bubble.

Tournament staff asked all dealers to pause the action after the current hand to begin the bubble process. On that hand, Michael Laake was all in with his short stack from the button and Andrew Lindenfelser called to put the Tampa pro at risk.

Lindenfelser: AdTc
Laake: Ac7d

Laake was in bad shape and the Ts8s4d7hAh board could not keep him in the game.

Staff counted down the remaining players to confirm and Laake was officially the bubble with no hand-for-hand process required.

All 70 players are now in the money and will begin getting paid out.

Event 3: Nice Flop for Julio Delgado

$350 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$100,000 Guaranteed | Payouts
Level 16: 3,000/6,000 with a 500 ante
Players Remaining: 80 of 560

Julio Delgado

The knockouts are coming quickly and the field is only ten bust outs from making some money. Julio Delgado did his part to help get them there.

He opened the action and saw an opponent three-bet shove for 62,000. Delgado called but his JcTc was dominated by KdJh.

Until the dealer spread the KsQc9s board.

A good flop for his hand.

The board finished 4s and 5c to send Delgado the pot and move him up to 262,500.

Wally Maddah, Anthony Astarita, and Michael Laake

Somehow the draw for Table 2 escaped our notice in the early hours but it is impressive. The 8-, 9- and 10-seats are occupied by Wally Maddah, Anthony Astarita, and Michael Laake. And all of them qualified during different starting flights.

That’s a tough path to get through for the other players and they will be there for a long time. That table will not break until they have the 27-player redraw later this evening.
