The final break of the night is a wrap and players in Flight C are settled in for one last hour of action. There are three chip leaders emerging as the aforementioned David Bradshaw and Tom Nguyen are joined by Andrew Boyer as one of the big stacks.

Bradshaw and Nguyen claim about 140,000 and 130,000 respectively and Boyer owns about 115,000.

Tom Nguyen

Tom Nguyen is a staple at any Seminole Hard Rock Tampa series. He’s ran deep in a number of tournaments has been known to run up a stack on occasion. He’s in the process of a run up here in Flight C as he owns about 125,000 chips. Nguyen is neck-and-neck for the lead and looks to finish Flight C strong.

At present, just a few minutes remain in Level 12. When it concludes, players will go on their final 15-minute break of the night.

David Bradshaw

Defending Winter Poker Open Main Event champion David Bradshaw is in the midst of his 2017 debut here in Flight C. Bradshaw is picking up where he left off, accumulating more than 100,000 chips and leading the way late in the day.

Nearly 12 months ago, he defeated 489 entries snagging the lion’s share of a $733,500 prize pool in the WPO Main Event. The top prize of $154,750 marks his largest tournament score to date.

Event 2: PLO Guarantee Gone

With the 96th entry, the $20,000 guarantee in today’s $250 buy-in Pot Limit Omaha Re-Entry tournament has officially been bested. Each additional buy-in will simply pad the prize pool and grow it further past the $20,000 figure. The number jumped, too, as it now reads over 100 total at the tables.

There’s a a strong field so far with the Event 1 leader in the clubhouse Andrew Kelsall, Seminole Hard Rock Tampa poker ambassador Wally Maddah and traveling pro John Holley all in. There’s about another two-and-a-half hours of registration and re-entry available until the desk closes at roughly 6:30pm local time.

Registration is closed and the field’s figure is final. Flight C drew 113 entries bringing the three-flight total to 414. That accounts $207,000 of the tournament’s $300,000 guarantee and has staff eying the $500,000 mark as a potential milestone.

Event 1C: One More Level of Registration

The clock changed over to Level 8 about 15 minutes ago marking the final level to get in the Flight C game. At its conclusion, players will take a 15-minute break. When cards go back in the air, registration will be cut off and the field will be final. Once it’s verified, we will provide the official figure, three-flight total and updated prize pool.

With two Tampa wins under his belt, Bryce McVay is no stranger to the Seminole Hard Rock. Most notably, he earned his second guitar trophy almost exactly a year ago in the 2016 Winter Poker Open $250 Deep Stack Turbo event.

McVay’s 2017 series is off to a promising start during the early stages of Flight C in the $570. Despite recently dropping a pot where he got 1,100 in preflop and 3,000 in on the flop, McVay is sitting strong with a stack of over 50,000 and the close of registration right around the corner.

Event 2: Some Non-Hold’em Action on Friday Night

For those interested in some four-card poker, there’s a $250 buy-in Pot Limit Omaha Re-Entry tournament freshly underway in the poker room. Players are set to sit to 15,000 chips and will play 30-minute levels throughout. Registration and re-entry are available until about 6:30pm and the tournament is structured to play to its conclusion. It boasts a $20,000 guarantee and will see its champ earn one of the property’s token guitar trophies.

Event 1C: Field Hits Triple Digits; Anthony Dianaty Finds a Call

Now in Level 6, the board shows 102 Flight C entries surpassing a combined field of 400 total. As the Level 5 clock ticked down, Tampa’s Anthony Dianaty was facing off in a heads-up pot. The action was dealt through the river — KdJs9h6sAh — and Dianaty was facing a bet of 8,500. After a couple minutes, a tablemate called “time” putting Dianaty on the spot. In the midst of his 10-second countdown, Dianaty reluctantly plopped a 100 chip in the pot signifying his call.

“Good call,” the unknown opponent said.

Dianaty tabled KsQd for second pair and took the pot.

Dianaty, a regular in the Tampa room, played both flights yesterday but never found a bag. Flight C is looking better for him as he raked a pot bringing his stack to about 55,000.

The first break’s a wrap and cards are in the air to kick off Level 5. With a field of 91 entries and growing, it’s James Pettit who’s had the most productive session to this point. Pettit leads the field early with a stack of roughly 65,000.
