Caleb Powell

We missed the action but saw the result when most of Table 11 stood up from their seats. It was a huge three-way pot with David Howard all in for 980,000 from the big blind, Caleb Powell at risk from early position for 615,000 and Steven Sinclair had them both covered.

Powell: AsAc
Sinclair: QsQc
Howard: JxJx

Sinclair could take both out with a miracle queen but Powell made a set on the Ah8d5c flop then the 5c turn left the queens and jacks drawing dead to the 3s river. Powell tripled up, Howard was eliminated, and Sinclair picked up a small rebate with his queens.

Caleb Powell – 1,895,000 (38 bb)
Steven Sinclair – 1,295,000 (26 bb)
David Howard – Eliminated in 33rd Place ($2,110)

Brandon Wilkins (left) versus Victor Nissim (right)

We missed the preflop action but it ended up with Brandon Wilkins and Victor Nissim all in with similar stacks.

Nissim: ThTc
Wilkins: AdKd

It was a fair fight with Wilkins needing to improve to take the pot. The QsJs6s flop changed nothing but the 5s turn made it more interesting. Wilkins had five river outs for the win and nine spades in the deck for a chop.

He missed the 2d river and the dealer counted down the stacks. Both had exactly 735,000 and Wilkins was eliminated in 73rd place.

Victor Nissim – 1,520,000 (76 bb)
Brandon Wilkins – Eliminated in 73rd Place ($1,060)

Sandeep Kumar

Shortly after the first break, we noticed Lucas Tae standing up at his seat with no chips in front. It was a bit shocking since he was among the leaders but was now waiting for a payout ticket.

We didn’t see the hand but most of his chips seem to be now sitting in front of Sandeep Kumar, our new chip leader with a huge 2,730,000 in his stack.
