Event 7: Flight B Underway

$560 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$500,000 Guaranteed

Level 1: Blinds 25/50

The second of six starting flights has begun for the half-million guaranteed $560 Deep Stack event.

The Rockin’ Poolside Tournament area, just outside Rise Kitchen & Bakery, makes the perfect location to do battle for the big bucks

Players began with 25,000 chips and Day 1 levels are 40 minutes long.  They’ll play 12 levels before bagging up for the night (about 4am).

Late registration and re-entry are available until the start of level 7 (about 11:30pm).

Event 3: Redraw at 18

$150 No Limit Hold’em

Level 24:  Blinds 15k/30k/4k ante

With 11 minutes remaining in the level, they reached 18 players and did another redraw for the final two tables.

They’ll take a dinner break at the end of this level, so we’ll get updated chip counts then.

Event 3: Redraw At 27…26

$150 No Limit Hold’em

Level 23:  Blinds 12k/24k/3k ante

They reached the final 27, um, 26 players and did a redraw for the final three tables.

Then there was a flurry of bustouts too fast to follow.

The biggest hand came with three players all in on a flop of Qh9c7s.  Joe Noel had the shortest stack and held JcTd for the open-ended straight draw.  Jennifer Welch held QcTh for top pair.  Manny Minaya had the big stack and held 9d7h for two pair.

The last two fell JdAd and changed nothing.  Manny scooped both pots, busting both opponents.  He chipped up to about 2.5 million.

Joe finished 23rd and Jennifer finished 22nd (both earn $566).

Event 3: Kings Kracked

$150 No Limit Hold’em

Level 23:  Blinds 12k/24k/3k ante

Steven Bennett
Steven Bennett – King Slayer

During the previous level, Troy Throop got his chips in the middle pre-flop holding pocket Kings.  Steven Bennett looked him up with pocket 7s.

The board ran out J 8 7 5 A and Steven flopped a set to take the pot.  Troy busted out in 36th place.

Steven chipped up to ~900k.

Event 3: Minaya First to a Million

$150 No Limit Hold’em

Level 21:  Blinds 8k/16k/2k ante

Manny Minaya - Million Chip Man
Manny Minaya – Million Chip Man

On the turn, the board read Qc5s2sAc and Randall Ball got all his chips in the middle in a huge pot against Manny Minaya.

Randall held 8s7s for a flush draw, but it was no good against Manny’s As9s for top pair with nut flush draw.  Randall was drawing dead and the river was the inconsequential 8d.  Randall hit the rail in 46th place.

With this monster pot, Manny Minaya chipped up to 1.06 million and is the first player to reach the million-chip-mark.

Event 3: Marc Davis Hits The Rail

$150 No Limit Hold’em

Level 21:  Blinds 8k/16k/2k ante

Before the blinds went up:

Marc Davis shoved and got looked up by seat 8 holding AJ.  Marc’s K9 suited needed help, but the board fell J 8 5 8 9 and it was not enough.  After shipping the double across the felt, Marc was left short.

He was all-in on the next hand for 28k.  Marian Dumitresca called, then Vontz Burke re-shoved from he small blind for 103k.  Marian folded what he said was Kd9d.

Vontz: AhAc

Marc: JdTd

Board: Qs7s6h8d3d

Burke’s Aces held up and he more than doubled up, busting Marc in 48th place in the process.
