Level 27: 30,000/60,000 with a 60,000 ante
Players Remaining: 6 of 779
There was very little major action after Romeo Mendoza doubled and they played through most of Level 27 before there were more fireworks.
It began with a limp from Fernando Rodriguez in the hijack, a limp from Max Young on the button, a complete from Darin Thompson in the small blind, and check from Romeo Mendoza in the big. An innocent start.
The flop came , Thompson and Mendoza checked in the blinds and Rodriguez bet 200,000. Young called on the button, Thompson folded, and Mendoza check-raised all in for 1,365,000. Rodriguez folded and Young called.
Young:
Mendoza:
Mendoza was ahead with trip eights versus Young’s two pair jacks and eights. The turn gave Young a gutshot straight draw that got there on the river and the unlucky knockout for Mendoza.
Max Young – 7,700,000 (128 bb)
Romeo Mendoza – Eliminated in 7th place ($37,890)
That was the last hand of the level and players grabbed a short break as the 5K chips came out of play.
