$1,100 Main Event No Limit Hold’em
On the final hand of the night, Nathan Ghodoushim picked up on an board. Ghodoushim and a lone opponent got about 500,000 in the middle as the lone opponent flipped over for two pair. With that, the opponent busted while Ghodoushim bagged a monster stack of 533,500.
Flight B of the $1,100 WPTDeepStacks-Tampa Main Event kicked off Friday at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino at 11 a.m. The second of three starting days, the most recent installment topped out at 129 entries bringing the two-flight total to 292 and growing the prize pool to an unofficial $286,160.
Following 12 levels of play, Ghodoushim set the pace as 23 advanced from Friday’s round. They join the 33 advancers from Flight A — as well as those who advance from Saturday’s Flight C — to create the complete Day 2 field.
Others advancing from Flight B include Len Nhoung (310,500), Tim Kegel (231,000), George Wolfe (107,000) and Zoltan Czinkota (88,000).
Not everyone fared as well as the above, though. WPTDeepStacks Player of the Year contender Brian Reinert, Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year contender Timothy Miles and WPTDeepStacks-Tampa Series Champion leader Karl Manouchakian each fired at least one bullet in Flight B before hitting the rail.
The third and final starting flight begins Saturday at 11 a.m. and is all but assured to surge the prize pool well past the $300,000 guarantee.
