David Nathaniel

Most players put up their $1,700 buy-in to enter the WPO Main Event, minus those who won their seat via a satellite, but one player is here on a freeroll.

David Nathaniel had a great run through the end of 2019 into the beginning of 2020 to earn Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year honors. And with that, his first entry into the WPO Main Event.

Nathaniel began his run with a 10th place finish in the Coconut Creek WSOP Circuit Main Event, followed that up with a win in this room in the Pinktober Main Event, and solidified his position with a deep run in the 2020 Tampa WSOP Circuit Main Event.

His Main Event started off well. Nathaniel opened to 300 from the hijack and Lexy Gavin three-bet to 900 from the button. Nathaniel called, the flop came Qs6d2h, and he check/called another 900 from Gavin.

The turn was Js, both players checked, the river was 8c, and Nathaniel bet out for 900. Gavin called the mucked when Nathaniel showed KsKh to take the pot.
