The $2,500 buy-in Championship headlined the 2024 Signature Poker Series last weekend. The tournament drew 304 entries, and local favorite James Kerr walked away with the title and $111,294 in a three-way deal.

The tournament featured a $500,000 guarantee that turned into prize pool worth $684,000. The last 38 players made the money and they burst the bubble midway through Day 2.

From there, they quickly worked their way toward the final table and some really big money. Andrew Neiding, sitting in the Championship after winning his entry for finishing third on the August Leaderboard, finished in tenth place.

Ya Yun Liu was the big chip leader heading to the final table but Kerr sent several players out to take the lead. With three players remaining, Kerr and Liu and Joel Deutsch decide to divide up the remaining prize money and call it a day.

This was the fourth major Tampa win for Kerr with three of them coming in the biggest tournament of a series; three Championship/Main Event wins sets him apart from everyone else.
