RECAP
James ‘Ping Pang’ Kerr (Lakeland, FL) and Rob Winsler (Sarasota, FL) decided on a heads-up chop.  Kerr, who is a professional poker player,  gets the win and the $3,500 Summer Poker Open Championship seat.  Winsler takes second place.

Winsler is in the manufacturing business and plays poker as a hobby.  He won a Seniors event last year and has several other cashes to his credit.

This event had a $75,000 Guarantee on the prize pool and drew 65 players.  The final nine got paid.  Day 1 began in the Rockin’ Poolside Tournament Area at 2pm Sunday and they played until about 2am before reaching the money and the nine-handed final table.  Final table action got underway at 2pm Monday and they wrapped it up shortly after 8pm.

Most notable among the final table was Filipp Khavin (St. Petersberg, FL).  He won Event 2, finished 3rd in Event 4, cashed in Event 3, and today made his third final table and fourth cash of this series, finishing 7th for $3,750.

When asked about how it feels to win, Kerr said “All right…it feels like Monday”.  That’s a professional poker player for you.  Just another day at the office.

This is Kerr’s second final table of this series.  He finished 9th in Event 1 for $6,237.  He said he plans to play the $1,650 Purple Chip Bounty NLH event tomorrow leading into the Championship.
