The first multi-day tournament on the Tampa Poker Classic schedule set the tone for the rest of the series. Event 2 drew nearly 1,000 entries and Kentucky’s Michial Drake took the title and $79K after a heads-up deal with Lawrence Cheng.
Event 2 drew 998 entries to push the $150,000 guaranteed prize pool way up to $513,970 with the last 100 earning a piece. There were 189 returning for Day 2 and the final table also featured Poker Room regular David Ormsbee and 2021 Tampa Winter Poker Open Champion Max Young.
The heads-up deal saw both Drake and Cheng chopping it right down the middle with each cashing out for $79,319 and Drake took the title with his chip lead.
A great start to the series with the Championship right around the corner.
