(Tampa, Fla.) — Bryce McVay is a three-time Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino tournament champion following a victorious performance in Event 2 of the property’s WPTDeepStacks series. McVay maneuvered through a tough field of 194 entries in the $250 No Limit Hold’em Turbo tournament ultimately needing just eight hours to secure the outright win. In addition to his third Seminole Hard Rock Tampa guitar trophy, McVay earned $12,222.

The tournament’s 194-entry field marked a year-over-year attendance increase of nearly 20 percent. It ran alongside the restart of the WPTDeepStacks $570 opener and soaked up many of that event’s bustouts. Seminole Hard Rock Tampa ambassador Wally Maddah and Jordan Chizick were among those who busted the restart and promptly entered the turbo. Unfortunately, neither finished in the money.

Joining McVay at the turbo final table was Joey Alegria. Alegria primarily plays cash, but caught the tournament bug recording his first cash here last August. In the months since, he’s recorded four more cashes including an eighth-place finish and $21,272 score in December’s Winter Poker Open Championship. He finished seventh in the turbo earning $1,630.

McVay is 30 years old and resides in Jupiter, Florida. His first guitar trophy came during a $350 that ran as part of the property’s Deep Stack Series in 2014. His next trophy came during last year’s Winter Poker Open, also in a $250 turbo. He now claims nearly $215,000 in reported tournament earnings.
