Event 5: Levi Busted At the End

$560 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$250,000 Guaranteed

Level 14:  Blinds 1,500/3,000/400 ante

David Levi - Busted
David Levi – Busted

Flight F Total Entries:  124
Flight F Players Remaining:   26
Average Stack:  143,000 (48 big blinds)

During the last three hands, David Levi shoved from the cutoff for 22k over the top of an utg raise to 7k from Carlos Loving.

The player on David’s left (button) called, then a shorter-stacked player called all-in from the small blind.

After the big blind folded, Carlos re-shoved, isolating the two short stacks by getting the button to fold.

Carlos had AT offsuit.  David was ahead with pocket 8s.  The small blind had J3.  The board came K 6 2 Q J and Carlos made Broadway to bust the two all-in players.

The final 26 players bagged their chips for the night.  Counts will be posted shortly.

Michael Laake will not be making a repeat final-table appearance in this event.  He finished 3rd in the 2014 SHRT Winter Poker Open Championship back in December ($42,323).

However after firing seven bullets in this event, he’s out with no more chances to re-enter.

Event 5: No Help for Novo

Julio Novo - Busted
Julio Novo – Busted

On a flop of  Tc9s4d Ross Monteleone was all-in and Julio Novo was in the tank.

After giving it some consideration, Julio called off all his chips showing AcTd for top/top.  Ross was way ahead with pocket 9s for a set.

The Ts on the turn just made matters worse, giving Ross a full house.  Julio needed the case ten, an Ace, or a 4 on the river to survive, but the river delivered the 2c.   Julio headed for the exit.

With that pot, Ross chipped up to about 300,000 and the chip lead for this flight.

Angel Vu - 2014 SHRP POY
Angel Vu – 2014 SHRP POY

Making her Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Spring Deep Stack Series debut today is Angel Vu.  She’s the 2014 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year.

One of the events that propelled her to the top of that leaderboard was when she won the $500 Deep Stack NLH event here in Tampa last Summer, cashing for over $69,000.   Read her interview here.

She went on to win a $1k SixMax NLH event during the Rock ‘n’ Roll Poker Open last November for over $30,000.  Her career earnings are closing in on a quarter-million dollars.  Not bad for a Vietnamese immigrant who learned the game while dealing poker!

Konstantinos Pantaridis
Konstantinos Pantaridis

Konstantinos Pantaridis is a fixture on the felt here at Seminole Hard Rock Tampa.  He managed to survive a recent all-in encounter when he shoved with 5c3c and ran into pocket Jacks.  He said “sixty-forty” when he saw his opponent’s cards.

Then the flop came 6 4 x giving him an open-ender, followed by a 7 on the turn for the straight, and he said, “Oh, I meant 100%”.

He doubled his short stack on that hand, but it did not last long and he busted out before the break.

Players are on their last break and they’ll return for two final levels before bagging up.
