The last flight of the 2023 Tampa Poker Classic Championship will set a mark as soon as cards go in the air. The field is only 20 entries away from surpassing the $500,000 guarantee and we have 40 registered 30 minutes before the game starts.

Time to build that prize pool.

Players start with huge 40K stacks and all Day 1 levels last 40 minutes, increasing to 60 at the start of Day 2. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 10 at 5:45 pm. They will compete through 12 levels today and survivors will return tomorrow at noon for Day 2.

Flight B ended with 44 players advancing and Henry Nguyen bagged a huge stack for Day 2. He put 510,500 in his bag and better than 200K more than Matthew Leecy bagged in Flight A for the overnight lead.

All five of the biggest stacks in Flight B are in the top five overall coming back, but there’s one flight to go. Billy Papadopoulos took advantage of the best-stack-format and will return for Day 2 with 219,000 while his 82K bag will come out off play.

Flight B reached the last level of the night right as the field dropped down to six tables. They will finish out Level 12 and survivors will bag for Day 2 on Sunday at noon.

Registration closed for Flight B of the 2023 TPC Championship with 180 entries putting a combined total of 314 in the game. The field is shortly 20 entries to surpass the $500,000 guarantee and we will hit that number before cards go in the air for Flight C on Saturday at 11 am.

Flight B will continue through 12 levels and survivors will join the 36 who advanced from Flight A.

The last break of the day is done and we have a new chip leader in Flight B. Lynn Bowersox pulled a big hand heading into the break and has the big stack in the room with 318,000. Billy Papadopoulos is still doing just fine with 292,500 and Henry Nguyen is in third with 254,500.

Level 9 is here and time is running out to get in the Flight B game. We have 169 entries so far and looks like we’ll come up a little short on the $500,000 guarantee but will get there very early tomorrow morning in Flight C.

Billy Papadopoulos really doesn’t want to play his 82K bag from Flight A. He is running over his table and his 284,000 at the second break is way ahead of the rest of the field. Looking good to take advantage of the best-stack-forward format.
