Ken McAdams

The 2022 Tampa Winter Poker Open closed with the $1,700 buy-in Championship over the last weekend of the series. The tournament drew 471 entries to easily surpass its $500,000 guarantee, and Ken McAdams outlasted the tough field to take the title along with $108,000 after a three-way deal.

After three starting days, the tournament generated a prize pool worth $706,500 and paid out the last 59 spots. The Championship had 83 players return for Day 2 and they quickly made it into the money.

McAdams took the lead late but had some tough competition, including defending champ T.K. Miles and WSOP Circuit Tampa winner David DiBernardi. Neither was able to book a seat at final table but Miles solidified himself at the top of our all-time money winners list.

The final table began with David Kozma leading but McAdams quickly jumped back on top after several eliminations. After picking up aces and sending Tampa regular Jerry Silva out in fourth place, McAdams came to an agreement with Kozma and Jamie Smith to divide up the remaining prize money.

Smith earned $82,000 for a third-place finish, Kozma took home $105,000 as the runner-up, and McAdams became the 2022 WPO Champion with a payday worth $108,000.

Congrats Ken and thanks to everyone for the great turnout during the series!
