Ryan Hogan

After a series of raises preflop, Ryan Hogan found himself all in from under the gun for his last ~170,000 against Aaron Thivyanathan in the big blind.

Thivyanathan: AhAd
Hogan: AcKc

Hogan ran his suited slick straight into aces, unfortunate timing for his big hand. The dealer ran out the Qh5h3s2d8c board and Hogan was sent out in seventh place.

Aaron Thivyanathan – 670,000 (67 bb)
Ryan Hogan – Eliminated in 7th Place ($6,780)

Before that hand, Frank Miceli was unable to run up his short stack and went out in eighth place for $5,976.

Shaw: Ah3h
King: 9s7s

King had two live cards to stay in the game, added a gutshot draw on the JcThTd flop, but missed the 6h turn and 4h river. Shaw made an overkill nut flush and King was eliminated from the final table in ninth place.

Structure | Payouts
Level 18:  4,000/8,000 with a 8,000 ante
Players Remaining:  9 of 202

Two big hands, one at each table, put Event 5 down to its final table of nine.

On Table 83, Oscar Lindo has his ~160,000 stack in the middle at risk against chip leader David Shaw.

Lindo: 8c8h
Shaw: 9c9s

Lindo was dominated and found no love on the KsQs7hTd2c board to go out in 11th place.

At the same time on Table 84, it was heads up between Aaron Thivyanathan with the board complete and reading As6c3c9sKh. Thivyanathan dropped in a bunch of 25K chips, enough to cover the approximate 140,000 Leecy was holding. He thought it over for a few minutes and called at risk.

Thivyanathan flipped over Ac3c for flopped two pair and Leecy’s was second best with AdTc to exit in 10th place.

Tournament staff paused the clock to redraw the final table nine.
