Gabriel Abusada opened to 300,000 from under the gun, Steve Queen called from the cutoff and Brian Altman three-bet to 1,600,000 from the big blind. Abusada folded and Queen called.
The flop came , Altman continued for 850,000 and Queen moved all in the 2,700,000. Altman called and Queen was at risk.

Altman paired his king on the flop to take the lead over Queen’s eights. The turn and river did not change a thing and Queen was eliminated in eighth place.

Chop central so far today at the WPT Tampa Championship final table. After Gabriel Abusada and Jonathan Jaffe had a chop on the river, we had two more big hands that ended the same way.
First it was Dave Berman getting his stack in against Brian Altman with versus . Both had flush freerolls but the board had them finish in a tie.
Soon after, John Haas was all in versus Abusada and this time it was versus for another chopped pot.

Jonathan Jaffe opened to 350,000 from under the gun and Gabriel Abusada called on the button to see the flop. Jaffe checked, Abusada bet 1,000,000 and Jaffe called.
Both players checked down the turn and river and flipped up their cards. Abusada flopped two pair with but was counterfeited with the running jacks. Jaffe held and earned half of the pot.

On the second hand of the day, Jonathan Jaffe opened to 300,000 from early position and Brian Altman three-bet to 900,000 from the cutoff. T.K. Miles cold four-bet shipped in for 2,075,000 from the big blind and Jaffe folded. Altman called, the cards were tabled, and they were racing early.

Eight of the nine WPT Tampa Championship final table players grabbed their seats and cards are in the air for the last day of the tournament. Will Berry was a little late but only missed one hand.
They will continue playing nine-handed at a tertiary table with 90-minute levels until they reach six players. Then they will pause the clock and move to the Championship final final table and levels go to 60 minutes.

The WPT Tampa Championship began with 1,165 entries but they are down to the final nine with a chance to put their name on the Mike Sexton Champions Cup. Three of them can add a diamond to their plaque already on the cup; chip leader Brian Altman going for win number three with Jonathan Jaffe and Zachary Smiley going for number two.
Altman holds a big lead at this point, his 10,800,000 a healthy distance from second place Steve Queen with 6,875,000.
Action gets back underway at 1 pm with a pause in the action when they hit six players to move to the “official” final table.

The chipleader is reigning Hublot WPT Player of the Year Brian Altman, who is going for his third WPT title. And he’s not the only WPT champion at the table, as Zachary Smiley and Jonathan Jaffe have titles as well. And T.K. Miles has won more money in poker tournaments at Seminole Hard Rock Tampa than any player in history, and he’ll need to finish no lower than fourth to have a chance to defend his position on the all-time leaderboard.
