Duff Charette

After David DiBernardi was eliminated, short-stacked Ronnie Day became the not-short-stacked when he doubled through Duff Charette.

Charette was down to 325,000 and open-shoved from the small blind. Justin Zaki checked his cards and quickly called in the big.

A tough cooler for the former leader and the best he could do was flopped a gutshot and turn a double belly buster draw on the AsJc8sQd3h board to go out in sixth place.

Action folded around to David DiBernardi in the small blind with his 140,000 stack. He peeked at his cards, chuckled, and Justin Zaki asked “it’s that bad?” with a laugh himself. DiBernardi dropped his chips in the middle and Zaki called in the big.

With the board reading 9c8h2d5s, Ryan Yu bet 100,000 from the small blind and Justin Zaki called in middle position.

The river came Qc and Yu bet another 160,000. Zaki thought for a moment, tossed out a calling chip, and Yu tabled KhJd for king-high. Zaki slipped over AcAd and the rockets took the pot.

Steven Richardson

Steven went on a little heater as Level 22 was coming to an end and the went into the new level.

First, he got his ~260,000 stack in the middle against Ronnie Day with 7s7h versus AdJc. Day paired the KsJh3h flop, Richardson stood up after the 5s turn, then celebrated his two-out 7d on the river.

A few hands later, he was all in again. This time it was against chip leader Duff Charette with a monster.

The board ran out 6d4s2c8c5c to take Richardson from a two-out river to stay alive to the chip leader.

Yu checked again and DiBernardi moved all in for 361,000. Yu thought for a minute and folded his hand to the shove.

Before the dust even settled, we lost two players at the final table in the first two hands. Five-time WSOP Circuit champ Loni Harwood was out of her seat and at the payout desk before we could blink then Mark Scacewater was all in on the next hand.

Steven Richardson had him at risk while some were still stacking their chips.

Scacewater needed to catch to stay in the game but missed the 4s4d2h flop. The 5s turn gave him spade outs with his over cards but he blanked the Jc river to exit in ninth place.
