Chad Kitchen open-shoved from the cutoff for ~425,000 and Andrew Boccia reshipped from the small blind to get a quick fold from Jeff Trudeau Jr in the big.

Boccia: KsKc
Kitchen: AhJs

Kitchen was in bad shape against the kings, caught a piece of the Jd5h4d flop but it wasn’t enough as the board finished Ts and 2s to send him out in sixth place.

Andrew Boccia – 1,350,000 (45 bb)
Chad Kitchen – Eliminated in 6th place ($19,870)

Karl Manouchakian

Karl Manouchakian took a major hit to his stack via Jeff Trudeau Jr. Unable to recover, he was eliminated a short time later in seventh place. Here’s how the hands went down:

Trudeau raised to 60,000 from early position and Manouchakian defended his big blind.

The flop fell Jh9c6s and Manouchakian checked. Trudeau bet 50,000 leaving himself about 250,000 behind. Manouchakian raised, sliding in a pile of blues in the pot that had Trudeau covered. Trudeau called off and it was showdown.

Trudeau: KdKh for an overpair
Manouchakian: KcTh for king-high and a gutshot

Turn and river: 2sJs

Trudeau’s pair was best. His stack was counted down to 255,000 and Manouchakian pushed a pile across the table. Manouchakian was left with just over 300,000 and went bust a few moments after when his AcTs was ran down by Filipp Khavin’s KsQh AIPF.

Filipp Khavin – 1,500,000 (50 bb)
Jeff Trudeau Jr. – 680,000 (22 bb)
Karl Manouchakian – Eliminated in 7th place ($16,683)

Justin Zaki

Justin Zaki recently butt heads with Matthew Leecy and was left with only 120,000 after the dust of their hand settled. It played out as follows:

Zaki popped it to 60,000 from early position. Leecy was behind him in middle-position and made it 175,000 to go. The action mucked around, sending it back to Zaki. He called and the dealer burned and turned.

Flop: Qs8s6h – Zaki checked. Leecy bet 175,000. Zaki called.

Turn: Qs8s6h4s – Zaki checked. Leecy bet 335,000. Zaki called.

River: Qs8s6h4s – With a big pot built, the action got more deliberate. Zaki checked a third time and Leecy went into the thinktank. After a minute or two, he pulled out a mix of white and blue chips good for a 650,000 bet. Zaki called leaving himself only about 120,000 behind.

Leecy turned over As7s for an ace-high flush. Zaki’s hand hit the muck.

It was a short while later Leecy raised to 65,000 from early position and Zaki jammed his last roughly 120,000 from the big blind. Leecy called and turned over QhTc. Zaki’s AcKd was best, but Leecy flopped a 10 to send the Florida pro him in eighth place.

Matthew Leecy – 3,600,000 (144 bb)
Justin Zaki – Eliminated in 8th place ($13,944)

Andrew Boccia

Matt Leecy opened to 60,000 from under the gun and it folded around to Andrew Boccia on the button. He moved all in for 505,000 to get a fold from the blinds. Leecy thought for half a minute and called.

Boccia: 9s9c
Leecy: AsTc

It was a coinflip and the all-low 7d3h2s7h5h run out was good for a Boccia double.

Andrew Boccia – 1,075,000 (43 bb)
Matt Leecy – 2,000,000 (80 bb)

Jeff Trudeau Jr

Action folded to Justin Zaki and he opened to 60,000 from the button. Jeff Trudeau Jr moved all in from the small blind for 250,000 and Matt Leecy folded his big. Zaki did not wait long before he called to put Trudeau at risk.

Zaki: Ad5s
Trudeau: Ah6d

“Chop?” Trudeau laughed.

He was ahead but a chop was a real possibility after the KhQd3d flop but Trudeau locked up the double when he paired the 6s turn. Zaki was drawing dead to the Kd river and sent some chips to Trudeau.

Jeff Trudeau Jr – 550,000 (22 bb)
Justin Zaki – 1,300,000 (52 bb)

Flop: Th8h5c – Trudeau checked. Leecy bet 110,000. Trudeau called.

Turn: Th8h5c5h – Trudeau checked again. Leecy bet again, this time 130,000. Trudeau called again.

River: Th8h5c5h7d – Trudeau checked a third time. Leecy bet a third time, 190,000. Trudeau through for a few moments, then slid forward two stacks of gray — a call.

Leecy turned over JsJd and Trudeau’s cards hit the muck.

Trudeau: Ad9c
Amato: Qs3c

Amato was live for a double, needed to catch, but missed the KsTd6d6c2h board to exit the final table in ninth place.

“Can we spread out a little to get that VIP experience,” Karl Manouchakian asked.

“Gotta make room for those guns,” Ken O’Donnell joked. “Karl will be in seats 3 through 6 today.”

Jeff Trudeau Jr – 960,000 (38 bb)
