John Alegria

Event 5 was deep and slow but it didn’t take long to get into the money once they went to hand-for-hand on the bubble.

On Table 42, it was three-ways to the Jc5h2h flop when John Alegria moved all-in for 10,800. Peter Walsworth called from the small blind along with Chun Wang on the button.

The two live players checked down the 2d turn and 4c river before Alegria showed QhQdJs5s. Queens up was no good for him after Wang turned over Qc6s4c3s for the six-high straight.

The hand knocked Alegria out in 12th and put the rest of them in the money.

WPO Day 7: Final Flights of Event 4

Devaraj Munisekar

The first week of the 2016 Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Winter Poker Open wrapped up in the early morning hours with the final two flights of Event 4. Flights C and D combined for 285 more entries to push the Event 4 total up to 508.

Of those starters, only 68 players qualified for Day 2 and 54 of them will walk away tomorrow with something for their efforts. The prize pool blew past the $50,000 guarantee and the Event 4 winner will walk away with more than $14,000 along with the guitar trophy and 2016 WPO Championship seat.

Devaraj Munisekar (pictured above) bagged up a huge lead after Flight B and his advantage held through the last two. His 426,400 is well clear of the rest of the field but that is no guarantee of success.

Event 4 will restart at noon but there are two other options available on the schedule for those who missed Day 2 (or bust early in the restart).

Event 5 kicks off at 11am with a popular $250 Pot Limit Omaha tournament featuring a $15,000 guaranteed prize pool. Event 6 runs later in the day at 6pm and is a $250 Big Stack No Limit Hold’em tournament with another $15,000 guaranteed prize pool

There are plenty of options for those looking for Wednesday poker action and we’ll be here once again watching them all.
