The opening event on the WPT Tampa schedule is already a success and we are going to pile on with the last of six flights getting underway at 5 pm. A combined 3,428 entries are already in the game, including a singe-flight record 1,102 this afternoon in Flight E, and the prize pool is nearly $1.8 million.

Tonight we run it up.

Players start with 20K stacks and all Day 1 levels last 30 minutes, increasing to 40 minutes on Day 2. Late registration is available until the start of Level 9 at 9:30 pm and they may re-enter as often as needed during that time. Flight E will play down to the last 10% of the field and survivors will return for Day 2 tomorrow at 1 pm in the money.

Things are starting to settle down a bit in the Event Center after registration closed. The parade of incoming players ended and the field began shrinking towards its outcome. There are still more than 350 players vying for the 111 spots advancing to Day 2 so they have some work to do.

Registration closed for Flight E of WPT Tampa Event 1 after the second break and we locked in the official record for the single biggest $600 starting flight in state history.

We had 1,102 entries today and that is incredible. It topped the previous mark of 1,062 set during the LHPO $600 Deep Stack in Hollywood back in January.
