Wally Maddah found the Day 1C rail, his last 13,000 chips going across the table holding versus an opponent’s pocket sixes. Maddah joins a number of players that have gone bust on this Saturday — including defending champion Quentin Jones — but he assured the media desk he’d be re-entering later.

Matthew Kerley’s reign at the top continues to start Level 7. The day’s second break concluded just moments ago and with the field the big stack was easy to spot.

Kerley’s mountain sits at just under 190,000 and he’s best in a tough Day 1C field that includes Wally Maddah, Jeff Trudeau, Tom Nguyen, Anthony Dianaty, Karl Manouchakian, Brian Reinert, Anthony Astarita and loads of other heroes.

The clock shows 267 entries in action — 607 total — putting the tournament prize pool at more than $588,000. Registration and re-entry are available until ~6:30pm.

Brian Reinert opened late position to 800 and Karl Manouchakian defended his big blind.

Flop: – Manouchakian checked and Reinert C-bet 800. Manouchakian called.

Turn: – Manouchakian lead 1,100. Reinert called.

River: – The action went check-check. Manouchakian announced, “10,” but Reinert was first to table for a pair of eights. Manouchakian confirmed his better flipping over . Tens took the pot and Manouchakian grew his stack to just under 50,000.

The preflop action was unknown, but it resulted in Marvin “Duckman” Karlins’ ducks getting shot down by chip leader Matthew Kerley.

Karlins’ was fit to get his last roughly 45,000 in the middle pre. Kerley’s was in great shape and looked even better after a runout.

Karlins B-lined for the cashier and prepped for Saturday’s second entry. Kerley stacked the chips and flirted with the 150,000 mark — more than 700 big blinds.

There are 212 filling up the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa poker tables at this juncture. The combined field is 552 putting the event further past the $500,000 guarantee.

Brian Reinert had a roller coaster Friday busting, then stacking piles on his second entry before bagging a modest 69,000. Alas, the WPTDeepStacks Main Event permits best stack forward and Reinert is in search of bigger.
