With about 16,000,000 already in the pot, the board was out and complete and reading 7c4d2cKdTh. Chip leader Daniel Couzens announced all in and Fred Paradis took his time to think it through.

After several minutes, Paradis called, Couzens flipped over 8d5d and Paradis tabled Kh8h. Paradis was best with his paired king and was at risk for 13,350,000. He doubled into a huge lead in the biggest pot of the tournament.

Smith was in a lot of trouble, called for a deuce, but it was Paradis improving on the KdJc6d flop. Paradis made trip jacks on the Jd turn and Smith was officially eliminated after the Kc river.

That was the last hand of the level and the three remaining players were sent on a break.

Kowalczik was way out front with his big slick but Couzens slammed the door when the Qc9c2c flop gave him a club flush. Kowalczik was stunned and watched the board finish 8d and 6h to send him out in fifth place.

Action folded to Leigh Lewis in the small blind and he bet 2,100,000. Khahn Truong was in the big blind, he called thinking he was all in, but his one-chip call left him with a few chips behind.

Daniel Couzens opened to 400,000 from the cutoff and JK Kowalczik three-bet to 1,200,000 from the button. The blinds folded, Couzen clicked it up to 2,600,000 and Kowalczik called.

The flop came AhQhJh and Couzen continued for 1,400,000. Kowalczik raised to 4,600,000 and Couzen announced all in. Kowalczik had about 1,400,000 still in his stack and went in the tank.

“What the (blank) just happened?” Kowalczik asked.

After two more minutes, Kowalczik elected to fold and fight another day.
