Event 5: Scott Dobbs Doubles Through Michael Rossitto

Scott Dobbs opened to 100,000 from the hijack and picked up calls from Javier Vallejo in the cutoff and Michael Rossitto on the button.

The flop came Jc6c5s, Dobbs bet 130,000, Vallejo folded, and Rossitto raised to 330,000. Dobbs three-bet all in for 825,000 and Rossitto called.

Dobbs flopped a set of six against Rossitto’s paired jack. The 9c turn and 9h river finished the board and Dobbs pulled a double.

Michael Rossitto opened from under the gun and Michael Tait moved all in for about 525,000 from the button. The blinds folded and Rossitto called.

Tait was in great shape and stayed ahead on the Ah5d3d flop. He needed to sweat Rossitto’s diamond draw, was safe on the Ac turn but it got there on the 7d river to send Tait out in sixth place.

Registration closed on the monster field in the Monster Stack with 574 entries leaving the tournament only a few away from hitting the $200,000 guarantee. With a full flight left to go, our players are going to build another huge prize pool.

Action folded to John Gorsuch in the cutoff and he moved all in for 220,000. Scott Dobbs raised from the small blind to get a quick fold from the big.

Gorsuch ran into a monster and it got much worse when Dobbs flopped a set of kings on the KsJh6h board. The 7c turn left Gorsuch drawing dead to the 3d river and seventh place.

Allen “Chainsaw” Kessler

The entry count clicked up to 500 on the dot in Level 10 for another milestone crossed. That puts $165,000 towards the $200,000 guarantee with a lot of time to run it up.

Allen “Chainsaw” Kessler made his first appearance of the series and looking for WSOP Circuit cash number 94 along with ring number four.

Event 7: Big Buy-in PLO

In addition to the Monster Stack, we have another new tournament on the WSOP Circuit schedule and our local action players will love it. Event 7 is a Pot Limit Omaha game with a $1,125 buy-in and two-day format.

They’ll sit down to 25,000 starting stacks and levels last 40 minutes from start to finish. Late registration is available until the start of Level 13 at 1:15am with unlimited re-entries during that time. Day 1 will come to an end after Level 15 and survivors will bag up their chips for a return on Wednesday.

The Monster Stack flight is taking their next break from the action and the prize pool is nearing $150,000 with an easy path to the $200,000 guarantee.

We have a lot of travelers in town for the series but the fields are still packed with our local regulars. A few we found in the crowd this afternoon include Parm Mehmi, Cheri Beatty, and a ton of others trying to win a ring for the regulars.

It took a little over one, 30-minute level to drop seven players out of off the tournament to trigger a three-table redraw with 18 players remaining. WSOP Circuit ring winners Ryan Van Sanford and Zach Mullennix were among those to fall short.
