Matt Leecy leads coming back for the Main Event final table

Only nine players remain in the Tampa Poker Classic Main Event and they return this afternoon for the last day of the tournament to play out the final table. One player is set to walk away with the title along with more than $112,000 and Matt Leecy returns with the best shot.

He leads the returning players with nearly 1.8 million but he has some tough competition behind him with Justin Zaki, Andrew Boccia, Jeff Trudeau Jr, Filipp Khavin, Ken O’Donnell, Amelio Amato, Chad Kitchen and SHR Tampa regular Karl Manouchakian trying to chase him down.

The stacks are deep and the structure is slow. Our first ever Tampa Poker Classic Main Event champion will have to work for it today in what we expect to be a long battle for the title.

The Main Event final table is set with nine players remaining and they will return on Monday at noon to play it out for the title.

Matt Leecy leads the way with Ken O’Donnell not far behind. Amelio Amato has the shortest stack but his 24 big blinds will still give him room to make moves.

Vitor Coelho

Before much of ado and counts were completed, Ken O’Donnell opened to 40,000 from under the gun and Vitor Coelho called in the small blind to see the 8c5c3s flop. Coelho checked, O’Donnell bet 30,000 and Coelho check-raised all in for ~320,000.

O’Donnell snapped a call as fast as possible.

O’Donnell: KdKc
Coelho: JcJd

A final table cooler for Coelho and he could not find a lucky save on the Qc turn or 7c river to exit in tenth place. He took home $9,462 and the rest of the table prepared to bag up for a return tomorrow.

Ken O’Donnell – 1,690,000 (106 bb)
Vitor Coelho – Eliminated in 10th place ($9,462)

Trudeau: 9s9c

Boccia was racing to stay in the Main Event and caught the river on the Td7c6dJcQc to triple up. It was barely a blip on the other stacks.
