Chris DiBari won the fifth and final primary event of the 2016 WPTDeepStacks-Tampa series Sunday night at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. DiBari came out on top of a field of 142 entries in the $250 Turbo following a heads-up chop with Justin Matecki. DiBari took home the lion’s share of the prize pool in the form of a $6,934 first prize. Matecki earned $6,933 as the runner up.
Following the victory, DiBari owns seven tournament cashes totaling more than $36,000. His Sunday night performance marks his second tournament win and the crowning achievement in a young career as a professional poker player. He is 26 years old and resides in Palm City, Fla.
The 2016 WPTDeepStacks-Tampa series began Thursday, June 9 with a $570 buy-in, $200,000 guaranteed tournament. The event drew a massive, 698-entry field generating a $349,000 prize pool. From there, a $350 buy-in, $100,000 guarantee picked up the action. As expected, it drew a healthy field of 495 entries generating a $147,400 prize pool. Finally, the 12-day series was headlined by the $1,100 Main Event. In addition to a $300,000 guarantee, the finale, which played down alongside the $250 Turbo, is set to have a live streamed final table beginning Monday, June 20 at noon.
